The RBZ has adopted a developmental approach to drive financial inclusion in Zimbabwe through the development of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (2016-2020), which was launched on 11 March 2016.
$15m Women Empowerment Fund: To support women businesses and projects. The facility is available through banks and microfinance institutions. Interest rate is 10% per annum with a tenure of up to 12 months for working capital and up to 3 years for capital expenditure.
Women’s Bank: act as a platform for access of funds for women’s special needs.
Women’s Desk: Dedicated desks in banks focusing on developing products and services that meet the specific needs of women. 10 banks have established women desks
SME Units: 13 banks have established SME units to facilitate development of tailor made products that meet the specific needs of SMEs.
